Episode 29-Greg Morton

• November 18th, 2011

Greg Morton stops by the Podshow on this episode.  The guys talk video games, voice acting, and Matt pulls his groin, not Greg's, but his own.

GregMorton had only two choices in schoolyard conflicts.  Learn the ways of the force, or use his wit to diffuse the situation.

That wit would lead to winning first prize in the, ‘So You Think You’re Funny Contest and the beginning of his career as a stand-up comic.

Finally he had found his voice.  A voice he would later use to direct and voice over twenty Saturday Morning cartoons.

At the age 16, he combined his love of music with comedy skits to become Greg Morton, That Crazy DJ.

A cadre of costumed characters and animated antics  coaxed people onto the dance floor and became his signature style.  A style dubbed by Las Vegas Magazine as completely entertaining.

This former mobile disc jockey who used to play songs at weddings, now sings song parodies on nationally syndicated radio shows, like the Bob and Tom Show.  Take his Obama Man, sung to the tune of Candy Man which has racked up over 4 million hits on YouTube.

Since then, this three time veteran of the Just For Laughs Festival, has gone on to disarm audiences worldwide, including concerts like Luther Vandross and Celine Dion.

A noble choice young Padawan.  This way, no one looses an arm.

Episode 26-Ryan Singer

• October 3rd, 2011

Ryan Singer is the rarest of breeds: A comic’s comic who electrifies mainstream audiences with material that is both uncompromising and unpretentious. The premeditated chaos of Singer’s comedy can now be heard on his debut album, HOW TO GET HIGH WITHOUT DRUGS, an intense exercise in wordplay, improvisation, and storytelling recorded at Go Bananas Comedy Club in Cincinnati, OH. Those who enter Singer’s world will be rewarded with knowledge of the connections between dimwitted hunters and Tyra Banks, cookies and racial tension, and even gay marriage and dragons, courtesy of a comedian who expertly connects insanity and brilliance.

Ryan’s debut album was recently selected by Punchline Magazine as one of the Top 10 Comedy CD’s of 2010.  He was one of 4 finalist in CMT’s Next Big Comic Contest, been heard on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio, has appeared on the nationally syndicated radio show Bob & Tom, and was a regional finalist in Comedy Central’s Open Mic Fight.  He was the winner of the Golden Shingle Award at the Rooftop Comedy Festival, an award given to the next rising star in comedy.

Episode 24-Mike Stankiewicz

• September 15th, 2011

It’s just Matt and Brent on this episode with special guest, Mike Stankiewicz. Matt deals with shit talkin’ “fans”, Mike gets complimented by Bill Hicks, and the guys talk comedy and religion.

mike_stankiewicz_1.jpg

Originally from Erie, PA where Mike realized playing second base on the Duck Inn softball team would not propel him to the "Big League". He moved to Philadelphia to cut his teeth doing stand-up. With his rust belt influence, his intellectual proclivity and a blue-collar approach to humor, he turned Philadelphia on its ear. Stank does for stand-up what Tom Waits does for music. So if you like Mr. Waits and have a penchant for Charles Bukowski, you'll love Mike Stankiewicz! An interesting aspect to Mike's career is that he has lived on both coasts (LA and NY) and fits seamlessly in both locations as well as everywhere in between.
